ControlHistory give you the control of your history. Using it you can decide what history to keep and what to delete.
Many programs track and save some of your actions. For example your browser will remember the websites you visited, applications used to edit documents will keep track of recently opened files, and Windows itself tracks which programs were recently used. These traces of your computer activity are commonly known as history.
This history is maintained because it has been observed that a user is very likely to revisit a recently browsed website and work with a recently used document. Maintaining history makes the processes of revisiting websites and reopening documents much more convenient. The down side of this is that your history is visible to anyone who uses your computer.
One solution could be to simply clear all your history. The first problem with this approach is that this is not that easy to do because though all browser support this functionality, most of the other applications do not. For example it is pretty straight forward to delete you entire history in Internet Explorer it is not possible to delete the recently opened documents in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader. The second drawback with this solution is that you either have all your history including that which you do not want or you have nothing. Furthermore the absence of any history can be an indicator to another user that you have done something you wanted to hide. The true suspicious do believe in, "the absence of all evidence is the proof of guilt".
ControlHistory provides an easy and simple way to control you history by allowing you to selective delete your history. It supports selective deletion of individual items from the history of IE, Firefox, Chrome, Google Desktop index and hundreds of other programs like Word, Excel and Acrobat that save their history in the registry. ControlHistory deletes only the history of a file and never the actual file.
